The Inspiration for Mandarin Karma

Since its humblest beginnings in 1989 on the Strand Road to our re-location to a new modern waterfront restaurant on the Queens Quay in 2001, the Mandarin Palace has become Derry City's happening place for Asian sounds and flavours.

Our continued success into the Year of the Tiger 2010 has seen us evolve into Mandarin Karma. Our dream for Karma is to create a serene, relaxed atmosphere in salubrious surroundings. Located on the banks of the River Foyle, Karma's Thai Buddha status sits impressively over this palace like setting, illuminating the hearts and souls of passers by who dine beneath her.

This sublunar haven harmonises east west delicacies, Eurasian architecture and eclectic music that envelopes the air and reaches out beyond the temple high ceilings. This ambiance has been created for our valued patrons and we have been inspired by rare gems and artefacts from around the world to achieve this magnificent setting. We hope the "Karma experience" transports you to the dizzy heights of splendour! Enjoy!

Thank you,
